After the humanitarian parole is approved at the US border, Ukrainians receive an entry permit for up to two years with the right to apply for employment. Further, the duration of the humanitarian parole for entry and safe stay in the United States is subject to compliance with the conditions outlined below.
Medical Conditions of Parole
Within 14 days after receiving the parole, the following conditions must be met:
- Adults and children over 2 years of age should be screened for TB infection (IGRA blood test);
- Get vaccinated against polio and COVID-19 if not vaccinated prior to arrival in the US (if age-eligible and have no medical contraindications);
- report compliance with these requirements to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Other Conditions of Parole
Persons who have received a humanitarian parole are required to:
- provide information about each change of address (place of residence) to the USCIS service no later than 30 days after the change of the place of residence.
- comply with all public health directives, comply with requests for additional information from the Department of Homeland Security and other federal law enforcement, and comply with local, State and Federal laws and ordinances.
Failure to comply with these conditions can lead to termination of your parole, detention, and removal from the United States, and could interfere with the ability to obtain other benefits and immigration relief to which you might otherwise be entitled.
