“The free CBP One mobile application enables noncitizens without appropriate documents for admission who seek to travel to the United States through certain southwest border land ports of entry (POEs) the ability to submit information through a module within the application instead of coming directly to wait at a POE” says DHS.
On October 28, 2020, US Customs and Border Protection launched the free CBP One mobile app, available for download on the Google Play and Apple App stores. CBP One serves as a single portal for a variety of US Customs services.
Beginning January 12, 2023, non-U.S. citizens in Central or Northern Mexico who wish to enter the United States can use the CBP One app.
With the app, the US authorities hope to relieve the congestion of immigrants at the borders of Mexico and the United States, as well as minimize the number of illegal border crossings. The current government plans to let nearly 40,000 migrants through official crossings every month thanks to the CBP One app, Homeland Security officials told CBS News.
Using CBP One simplifies the entry procedure and also makes it safer. All applicants may provide the required information for themselves and any accompanying persons (spouse or child) on the application in advance and make an appointment to appear at ports of entry located in Arizona, Texas and California.
CBP One can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. Detailed information and instructions can be found on the official website of the US Customs Service https://www.cbp.gov/about/mobile-apps-directory/cbpone
